Job Overview

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to Uganda’s mining industry by conducting geological surveys, analyzing mineral data, and supporting exploration projects. The role requires a blend of fieldwork and office-based analysis to identify new mining sites and optimize existing operations. Candidates will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with national mining regulations and international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys and geological mapping to identify potential mineral deposits.
  • Analyze rock samples and geological data to assess mineral viability.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with drilling teams to plan and execute exploration programs.
  • Monitor environmental impact and ensure adherence to sustainability protocols.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in geological software (e.g., Surpac, ArcGIS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work in remote field locations with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan mining laws and international exploration standards.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mining Geology is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in mining exploration or geological analysis.
  • Proven experience in East African mining environments preferred.

Salary

4,000,000 – 6,000,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
