Job Description (Key Duties & Responsibilities)
1. Supply Chain Management & Logistics Operations
The Supply & Logistics Officer will:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor end-to-end supply chain operations
- Ensure efficient procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, and distribution of supplies
- Monitor logistics performance to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery of essential goods
- Strengthen inventory management and supply tracking systems
2. Emergency Response & Humanitarian Logistics
- Support emergency preparedness and humanitarian logistics operations
- Strengthen supply chain systems aligned with UNICEF humanitarian response commitments
- Ensure rapid procurement and distribution during emergencies and crisis situations
3. Programme & Partner Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with programme teams, implementing partners, donors, and stakeholders
- Support supply planning and implementation for child-focused programs
- Assist in Partnership Cooperation Agreements (PCAs) and HACT compliance processes
- Ensure accountability and transparency in supply chain management
4. Government Technical Support
- Provide technical support to government institutions and national systems
- Strengthen local and national supply chain capacity development initiatives
- Support sustainable logistics and procurement reforms
5. Innovation & Market Development
- Promote innovation in supply chain systems and logistics operations
- Contribute to market development, product innovation, and value-for-money strategies
- Support improvements in access to essential supplies for children and vulnerable populations
