Job Overview
This role is ideal for a forward-thinking professional passionate about merging technology with agriculture to drive impactful change. The Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Coordinator will lead initiatives to develop and implement scalable solutions for climate-smart farming in Uganda. The position is based in Mbarara, a hub for agricultural activity in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute sustainable agricultural projects using IoT-enabled farming tools.
- Collaborate with local farmers to adopt precision agriculture techniques.
- Conduct research on soil health and water conservation technologies.
- Partner with NGOs and government bodies to secure funding for green initiatives.
- Monitor and report on the environmental impact of implemented solutions.
Required Skills
- Expertise in agroecology and renewable energy systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis for agricultural outcomes.
- Familiarity with Ugandan agricultural policies and regulations.
- Fluency in both English and local languages (e.g., Runyankole).

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Advanced certification in Sustainable Agriculture or AgriTech is a plus.

Salary
UGX 3,500,000 – UGX 4,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
