Job Overview
The Corporate Credit Analyst will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness of corporate borrowers, preparing detailed credit proposals, and monitoring portfolio performance. Working closely with relationship managers and senior credit officers, the analyst will conduct financial statement analysis, industry research, and risk assessment to support informed lending decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and business plans of corporate clients to assess credit risk.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums and recommendation reports for credit committee approval.
- Conduct industry and market research to contextualize borrower performance and identify emerging risks.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios, identify early warning signals, and recommend remedial actions.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to structure appropriate loan terms and covenants.
- Ensure compliance with Absa’s credit policies, Basel III guidelines, and local regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate credit files and update risk rating systems in the bank’s credit management platform.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for clear presentation of credit analyses.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with credit risk software is a plus.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the capacity to collaborate across departments.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, ACCA, or CPA are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in credit analysis, preferably within a corporate banking environment. Experience with Ugandan corporate clients, exposure to sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, infrastructure, or services, and a solid understanding of local regulatory frameworks will be highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives aligned with the bank’s remuneration policy.
