Job Overview

As a Cloud Solutions Engineer at Microsoft Uganda, you will design, implement, and optimize cloud architectures for a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations. You will work closely with sales, consulting, and product teams to translate business requirements into robust, secure, and cost‑effective cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable Azure solutions that meet client performance, security, and cost requirements.
• Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to develop technical proposals and proof‑of‑concepts.
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code using tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization for cloud workloads.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.
• Provide technical mentorship and training to junior engineers and client teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to support critical incidents and resolve issues promptly.
• Document architecture designs, operational procedures, and best‑practice guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, AI).
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and cloud governance.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. Experience in a consulting or client‑facing role is advantageous, as is exposure to enterprise‑grade deployments across multiple industries.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 3,000,000 to SSP 5,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and stock‑option plans may also be offered.
