Job Overview
This role involves designing and implementing analytics solutions to optimize sports performance, event planning, and fan experience. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a passion for sports to deliver actionable insights for Ugandan and regional sports organizations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop predictive models for athlete performance and injury prevention
- Analyze event attendance, ticketing, and fan engagement metrics
- Collaborate with sports teams and event organizers to identify data needs
- Create dashboards and reports for real-time decision-making during events
- Integrate AI tools for sports video analysis and crowd behavior insights
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis
- Experience with sports performance tracking software (e.g., Catapult, STATSports)
- Strong understanding of sports event logistics and operations
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to stakeholders
- Knowledge of Ugandan sports ecosystem and regional tournaments
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s/MBA) in Sports Management preferred.
Experience
3-5 years in sports analytics, event data management, or similar roles. Experience with international sports events or Ugandan national teams is a plus.
Salary
8,000,000 – 12,000,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
