Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Occupational Health and Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives at our Namanve plant. In this critical role, you will design, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs that align with international standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and update comprehensive occupational health and safety policies in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections across all manufacturing units to identify potential hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Organize and conduct safety training sessions and workshops for employees at all levels.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and ISO 45001 standards in Uganda.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence employees.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail in identifying workplace hazards.

Education

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Industrial Engineering from a recognized institution. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in an occupational health and safety management role within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
