Our team in Mbarara is responsible for managing our forestry projects in the region, and we are seeking a skilled professional to join our team.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Mbarara, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our forestry projects in the region, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to improve our forestry management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze data related to forestry projects in the region
  • Develop and implement digital solutions to improve forestry management practices
  • Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local government agencies and other stakeholders
  • Conduct fieldwork to monitor and evaluate project progress

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in forestry management or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with local communities and stakeholders

Education

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience

The successful candidate must have 5-7 years of experience in forestry management or a related field. Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with local communities and stakeholders is essential.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of 5,000,000 – 7,000,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
