Job Overview
We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Kasese, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry management efforts. This will include designing and implementing digital tools to monitor and analyze forest health, as well as developing strategies to engage local communities in forest conservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry management efforts
- Design and implement digital tools to monitor and analyze forest health
- Develop strategies to engage local communities in forest conservation
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to develop and implement forest management plans
- Conduct research and analysis to inform forestry management decisions
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of forestry management principles and practices
- Experience with digital tools and technologies, including GIS and remote sensing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
Experience
5-7 years of experience in forestry management or a related field
Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per annum
