Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Mbale, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for WWF-Uganda’s conservation projects, as well as providing technical support to our team on environmental issues.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment or a related field. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for WWF-Uganda’s conservation projects
- Provide technical support to the team on environmental issues
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for WWF-Uganda’s projects
- Collaborate with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement conservation projects
- Conduct fieldwork and data collection for environmental impact assessments
Required Skills
- Strong background in environmental science, conservation, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment or a related field
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
