Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geophysics Research Scientist to join our team in Mbale, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in geophysics, including the use of seismic and potential field methods to study the Earth’s crust and upper mantle.
The position will involve working closely with our international partners, including the Uganda Government, to develop new technologies and methods for exploring and managing the Earth’s resources.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Geophysics and at least 8 years of experience in geophysics research. They will also have a strong track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and a proven ability to work effectively in a team.
The position is full-time and will be based in Mbale, Uganda. The salary will be 4,500,000 – 6,000,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in geophysics, including the use of seismic and potential field methods to study the Earth’s crust and upper mantle.
- Work closely with our international partners, including the Uganda Government, to develop new technologies and methods for exploring and managing the Earth’s resources.
- Collaborate with other researchers to develop new research projects and proposals.
- Write and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research findings at conferences and workshops.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Geophysics.
- At least 8 years of experience in geophysics research.
- Strong track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education
Ph.D. in Geophysics from a recognized university.
Experience
At least 8 years of experience in geophysics research, including experience in seismic and potential field methods.
Salary
