Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geophysics Research Scientist to join our team in Masaka, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to research projects in geophysics, with a focus on seismic hazard assessment and mitigation.
The role will involve collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines, including geology, geophysics, and engineering, to develop and apply advanced geophysical techniques to address complex geological problems. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of new research ideas and proposals, and to publish research findings in leading scientific journals.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field, with a strong background in seismic hazard assessment and mitigation. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
