Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and charismatic Front Office Manager to lead our reception and concierge teams in Arua. This critical role is the heartbeat of our hotel, serving as the primary point of contact for guests and ensuring that the first impression of our property is nothing short of spectacular. The successful candidate will oversee all front-of-house operations, including reservations, check-in/check-out procedures, and guest relations management. You will be responsible for maintaining high service standards, managing staff performance, and optimizing room occupancy through strategic coordination with the sales and housekeeping departments.

This role requires a leader who can remain calm under pressure and handle complex guest inquiries with grace. You will play a pivotal role in driving guest loyalty and ensuring our property maintains its high rating in the competitive Ugandan tourism market. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the front office department to ensure seamless guest services.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a diverse team of receptionists, bellhops, and concierge staff.
  • Oversee the guest check-in and check-out processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Coordinate closely with the Housekeeping and Maintenance departments to ensure room readiness.
  • Monitor front office revenue and assist in implementing strategies to maximize room occupancy and ADR.
  • Maintain accurate guest records and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Manage the front office budget and control operational expenses.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera or Oracle.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English.

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certifications in hospitality management or customer service excellence are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel front office operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment. Proven experience in managing diverse teams and handling complex guest relations is essential for success in this role.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,500,000 SSP, depending on experience and performance metrics. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier talent in the region.
