Job Overview

The Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Auditor will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all manufacturing and distribution processes at Johnson & Johnson Uganda meet rigorous Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and local regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, the auditor will conduct internal and external audits, assess compliance gaps, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement corrective actions. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document internal quality audits across manufacturing, packaging, and distribution sites.
• Assess compliance with GMP, WHO, and Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) regulations.
• Identify non‑conformities, prepare audit reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Follow up on CAPA implementation, verify effectiveness, and close audit findings.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections.
• Maintain audit schedules, records, and documentation in accordance with company policies.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on audit procedures and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing audit trends and suggesting process enhancements.
• Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the development of quality metrics.
• Ensure that all audit activities align with Johnson & Johnson’s global quality framework and local compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of GMP, ISO 9001, and pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear audit reports.
• Proficiency in audit management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high ethical standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified GMP Professional are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of experience conducting quality audits in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of ensuring regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
