Job Overview

The Blockchain Solutions Engineer will design, develop, and implement blockchain-based services on AWS platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performance solutions for clients in finance, supply chain, healthcare, and public sector domains. The role involves translating business requirements into technical architectures, integrating smart contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. As a key member of the engineering team, you will work closely with solution architects, product managers, and security specialists to create end‑to‑end blockchain solutions that leverage AWS services such as Amazon Managed Blockchain, AWS Lambda, and Amazon DynamoDB. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop blockchain networks using Amazon Managed Blockchain, Hyperledger Fabric, and Ethereum frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product owners to translate business needs into technical specifications and solution architectures.
  • Implement smart contracts, chaincode, and decentralized applications (dApps) that meet security and performance standards.
  • Integrate blockchain solutions with existing AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, and S3, to enable seamless data flow.
  • Conduct performance testing, monitoring, and optimization of blockchain deployments to ensure scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and development teams.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of architecture, code, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging blockchain trends, standards, and regulatory requirements in Uganda and the region.
  • Participate in client workshops, proof‑of‑concepts, and presentations to showcase solution capabilities.
  • Support incident response and troubleshooting for blockchain services, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, and Amazon Managed Blockchain.
  • Hands‑on experience with smart contract development using Solidity, Go, or JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in cloud services, especially AWS core services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation).
  • Solid understanding of cryptographic principles, consensus algorithms, and distributed ledger technology.
  • Programming expertise in Python, Java, or Node.js for backend integration.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction and cross‑team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan data protection regulations and financial compliance standards is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or blockchain (e.g., Certified Blockchain Professional) are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of professional experience developing and deploying blockchain solutions in a cloud environment. Prior experience with enterprise clients in finance, logistics, or government sectors will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 4,000,000 to SSP 6,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and stock options may be offered to high‑performing individuals.
