Job Overview
The Construction Project Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that CCCC Uganda’s construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost estimates, schedules, and performance metrics for large‑scale infrastructure projects in Uganda. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare cost forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to support financial decision‑making.
- Monitor project performance against baseline schedules and budgets, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment of project controls data.
- Generate regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Implement earned value management (EVM) techniques to assess project health.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans related to schedule and cost.
- Support contract administration by reviewing change orders and ensuring proper documentation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost estimating tools.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and local regulatory requirements.
- Team‑oriented mindset with collaborative problem‑solving skills.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑PMI‑EVM, or AACE International credentials are considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in project controls for large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects. Experience with international standards and exposure to multi‑disciplinary project environments is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 3,000,000 to SSP 5,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based incentives and allowances aligned with industry benchmarks for Uganda Jobs and Employment in Uganda.
