Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Finance Analyst will support the financing and financial modelling of wind and solar projects throughout Uganda. Working closely with the Project Development, Engineering, and Legal teams, the analyst will evaluate investment opportunities, structure financing packages, and ensure compliance with both local regulations and international standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed financial models for wind and solar projects, including cash flow, IRR, and NPV analyses.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions.
- Prepare comprehensive financing proposals for banks, development agencies, and private investors.
- Collaborate with the legal team to ensure all financing agreements comply with Ugandan regulations.
- Monitor project financial performance, track budgets, and report variances to senior management.
- Assist in securing funding from international climate finance mechanisms and local financial institutions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of renewable energy policies, tax incentives, and market trends in Uganda.
- Support the preparation of internal and external stakeholder presentations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling using Excel or specialized software.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentations.
- Understanding of renewable energy project finance structures and instruments.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Ugandan tax laws, incentives, and regulatory frameworks for renewable energy.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA) is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or financial advisory within the renewable energy sector or related infrastructure projects. Experience working with international lenders or development finance institutions is a plus.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 3,000,000 to SSP 5,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and other incentives are part of the remuneration package.
