Job Overview
This role focuses on creating immersive digital narratives that document and promote Uganda’s intangible cultural heritage. The successful candidate will bridge traditional storytelling with modern digital tools to engage global audiences and support local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop multimedia content (videos, podcasts, interactive maps) showcasing Ugandan cultural heritage.
- Collaborate with local elders, artists, and historians to document oral traditions and rituals.
- Design digital campaigns to promote cultural preservation on global platforms.
- Integrate augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies into storytelling projects.
- Coordinate with international partners to co-create cross-cultural digital exhibitions.
Required Skills
- Expertise in digital storytelling tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Unity).
- Proficiency in AR/VR content creation software.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan cultural traditions and heritage preservation.
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English and at least one local Ugandan language.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Cultural Studies, or related field. Advanced degrees in Anthropology or Museum Studies are advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in digital content creation, cultural project management, or heritage documentation. Prior work with AR/VR technologies is preferred.
Salary
3,000,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
