You will work closely with our development teams to identify and address accessibility barriers, and you will develop and implement strategies to improve accessibility.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Accessibility Specialist to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products and services are accessible to people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accessibility audits of our products and services to identify and address accessibility barriers
• Develop and implement strategies to improve accessibility, including training developers on accessibility best practices
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure that accessibility is integrated into the development process
• Develop and maintain accessibility guidelines and standards for our products and services
• Provide training and support to employees on accessibility best practices

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG 2.1 and Section 508
• Experience with accessibility testing tools and techniques
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in accessibility or related field

Salary

5,000,000 – 7,000,000 SSP per annum
