Job Overview
This position involves conducting field-based geological surveys to identify mineral deposits, assess resource potential, and support exploration projects in Uganda’s northern region. The role requires collaboration with engineering teams, data analysis, and report preparation to guide mining operations. Candidates will contribute to Africa Minerals Limited’s mission of balancing economic growth with ecological preservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and collect geological samples for analysis.
- Utilize GIS and mapping software to interpret subsurface data.
- Prepare technical reports on mineral resource assessments.
- Collaborate with drilling teams to optimize exploration strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan mining regulations and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geological surveying techniques and equipment.
- Experience with mineral resource estimation software (e.g., Surpac, Micromine).
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting geological data.
- Ability to work in remote field conditions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for technical reporting.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Mining Geology is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in geological surveying within the mining industry.
- Previous experience in East African mining projects preferred.
Salary
5,000,000 – 7,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
