Job Overview

This role is ideal for a creative professional passionate about using multimedia tools to amplify local voices and global issues. The position requires producing engaging content for digital platforms, including video, audio, and interactive media. Candidates will collaborate with cross-sector partners to develop content that aligns with BBC Media Action’s mission in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality multimedia content (video, audio, infographics) for digital platforms
  • Collaborate with local communities to co-create stories that reflect diverse perspectives
  • Develop content strategies for social media, websites, and broadcast platforms
  • Conduct field research and interviews to gather authentic narratives
  • Edit and optimize content for SEO and audience engagement
  • Provide training and mentorship to local content creators

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
  • Experience with audio production tools (Audacity, Adobe Audition)
  • li>Strong understanding of digital storytelling techniques

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Luganda
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in diverse communities

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Additional certifications in digital content creation are a plus

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in multimedia content creation
  • Proven track record in digital media production
  • Experience working in international development or media contexts preferred

Salary

2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
