Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Drilling Supervisor to lead complex drilling operations in the Hoima region. This role is critical to our upstream exploration activities, ensuring that all drilling processes are executed with maximum efficiency, safety, and minimal environmental impact. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all drilling activities on-site to ensure adherence to technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Manage and coordinate drilling crews, contractors, and third-party service providers to optimize rig time.
- Monitor drilling parameters and make real-time decisions to mitigate geological risks and prevent non-productive time (NPT).
- Ensure strict compliance with environmental protection standards and local regulatory requirements in Uganda.
- Conduct regular safety audits and lead incident investigations to maintain a zero-harm workplace.
- Oversee the maintenance and inspection of drilling equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Required Skills
- Advanced expertise in deep-well drilling techniques and subsurface pressure management.
- Strong leadership and crisis management skills in high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in using digital drilling monitoring software and real-time data analysis tools.
- Exceptional communication skills for coordinating between field operations and office-based engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of international petroleum safety standards (API, IADC).
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is mandatory. Professional certifications in Well Control (IWCF or IADC) are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in drilling operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity within the oil and gas sector. Proven experience in the East African energy landscape is an advantage.
Salary
The monthly gross salary for this position ranges from 12,000,000 SSP to 18,000,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier talent in the sector.
