We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Tax Consultant to join our expanding advisory team in Gulu. This role is critical in helping our clients navigate the complexities of the Ugandan tax landscape, ensuring compliance while optimizing their fiscal strategies. As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor to corporate clients, providing insights into direct and indirect taxation, transfer pricing, and regulatory changes. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of complex corporate tax returns and compliance documentation.
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients to mitigate risks and optimize tax positions.
  • Conduct thorough tax audits and represent clients during interactions with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
  • Monitor changes in local and international tax laws to provide proactive advisory services.
  • Manage and mentor junior tax associates, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy.
  • Develop customized tax compliance frameworks for multinational corporations operating in Northern Uganda.
  • Collaborate with the audit and consulting departments to provide integrated business solutions.

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Ugandan tax legislation and international tax principles.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for client presentations and reporting.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and specialized tax management software.
  • High level of professional integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Education

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution. Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage in the selection process.

Experience

A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in tax advisory or auditing within a professional services firm is required. Proven experience in handling corporate tax compliance and providing strategic advisory to large-scale enterprises is essential for success in this role. We are looking for individuals who have demonstrated a trackog record of excellence in employment in Uganda.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from SSP 4,500,000 to SSP 7,500,000, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and technical expertise. This competitive package reflects the high level of responsibility and specialized knowledge required for the role.
