Job Overview
The Supply Chain Sustainability Analyst will lead initiatives to embed environmental and social responsibility into Maersk’s Uganda operations. Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, you will assess carbon emissions, develop green procurement strategies, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustainability targets. This role involves data analysis, reporting, and the implementation of best practices that enhance supply chain efficiency while minimizing ecological impact. You will work closely with the operations, procurement, and customer service teams to integrate sustainability metrics into daily processes. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze supply chain data to identify carbon hotspots and recommend reduction strategies.
- Develop and maintain sustainability dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Collaborate with procurement to source eco‑friendly materials and services, ensuring compliance with Maersk’s green procurement policy.
- Lead cross‑functional projects that integrate circular economy principles into logistics operations.
- Provide training and guidance to operational teams on sustainable practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to emissions, waste, and resource efficiency.
- Support the preparation of sustainability disclosures for corporate reporting and stakeholder communication.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as GRI, CDP, and the UN Global Compact.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Project management experience, preferably with certifications like PMP or Prince2.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence change.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and supply chain processes in emerging markets.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in sustainability or supply chain analytics are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in supply chain analysis, sustainability consulting, or environmental management within the logistics or manufacturing sectors.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses may be offered.
