Job Overview

The Sustainable Agriculture Specialist will play a key role in promoting sustainable agriculture practices among farmers in Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agriculture programs, providing training and technical assistance to farmers, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote best practices in agriculture.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sustainable agriculture programs for farmers in Uganda

Provide training and technical assistance to farmers on sustainable agriculture practices

Collaborate with stakeholders to promote best practices in agriculture

Conduct research and analysis on sustainable agriculture practices and their impact on the environment and communities

Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector

Required Skills

Strong background in agriculture, with a focus on sustainable agriculture practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to travel frequently to rural areas

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field from a recognized university

Experience

5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, with a focus on program development and implementation

Salary

SSP 1,500,000 – 2,500,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
