Job Overview

This role focuses on designing and implementing next-generation smart grid systems to optimize energy distribution and integrate renewable energy sources. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about energy sustainability and technological innovation in Uganda’s evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop smart grid solutions tailored to Uganda’s energy infrastructure needs.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and private stakeholders to implement energy efficiency projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for renewable energy integration into existing power grids.
  • Provide technical expertise for energy storage system optimization.
  • Monitor and analyze energy consumption patterns to improve grid reliability.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in smart grid technology deployment.
  • Strong analytical skills for energy system modeling.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan energy regulations and sustainability frameworks.
  • Proficiency in energy management software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

  • 3-5 years in energy systems design or smart grid implementation.
  • Experience in East African energy markets is a significant advantage.

Salary

5,000,000 – 8,000,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
