Job Description (JD)

The Water Treatment Plant Operator Trainee will assist in the monitoring, testing, and treatment of water systems used in industrial production processes. The successful candidate will support the maintenance of water quality standards while learning operational procedures related to boiler systems, cooling towers, and raw water management.

This position is ideal for candidates with technical chemistry knowledge and practical experience in water treatment seeking to grow their careers in industrial plant operations.

The trainee will work closely with senior technical teams to ensure water treatment processes meet operational and safety requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in daily operation and monitoring of the water treatment plant.
  • Conducting routine water testing and analysis to ensure compliance with required standards.
  • Monitoring and maintaining boiler water parameters for efficient industrial operations.
  • Supporting the analysis and management of cooling tower parameters.
  • Monitoring raw water quality parameters and recommending corrective measures where necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of water treatment activities, test results, and system performance.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting operational issues affecting water quality and treatment systems.
  • Supporting preventive maintenance activities for water treatment equipment and systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace safety and environmental standards.
  • Learning and applying industrial water treatment best practices under supervision.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

Required Education

  • Diploma in Industrial Chemistry
    OR
  • Diploma in Science Technology Chemistry

from a recognized institution.
