Position Summary
The Maintenance Officer will play a key role in ensuring uninterrupted field operations by maintaining a fleet of cane haulage and loading equipment. Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on agricultural machinery and transport equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently.
- Carry out major and minor repairs on tractors, trailers, loading machines, and winches.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime through effective maintenance planning.
- Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, and potential failures.
Fleet and Machinery Management
- Oversee maintenance activities for New Holland tractors and related agricultural equipment.
- Maintain cane haulage trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.
- Service and repair John Deere, Bell, CAMECO, and Uttam cane loading machines.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacement or refurbishment when necessary.
- Maintain maintenance records and service histories for all machinery.
Preventive Maintenance Planning
- Develop and implement structured preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure spare parts availability and inventory control.
- Coordinate maintenance shutdowns and service intervals.
- Minimize equipment breakdowns through proactive maintenance practices.
- Improve machinery lifespan and operational efficiency.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with workplace safety standards.
- Promote adherence to environmental and operational regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections on machinery and equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment safety and reliability.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery.
- Extensive experience working with tractors, haulage trailers, and cane loading equipment.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and diesel engine systems.
- Experience within agribusiness, manufacturing, or plantation operations is highly desirable.
