Job Overview

Sendy Uganda is seeking a dynamic Sustainable E-commerce Operations Specialist to drive the integration of environmentally responsible practices into its logistics and delivery operations. This role is pivotal in aligning business growth with sustainability goals, ensuring that e-commerce solutions in Uganda contribute to both economic and environmental progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable logistics strategies for e-commerce operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize delivery routes using eco-friendly technologies.
  • Monitor and report on carbon footprint reduction metrics for all delivery activities.
  • Conduct audits of current operations to identify areas for sustainability improvements.
  • Partner with suppliers to source eco-friendly packaging and transportation solutions.
  • Design training programs for staff on sustainable business practices and green logistics.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in e-commerce operations or logistics management.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and green business practices.
  • Proficiency in supply chain optimization software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Fluency in both English and local languages (Luganda preferred).

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Advanced certification in Sustainable Business Practices (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) is a plus.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in e-commerce operations, logistics, or sustainability management.
  • Previous work in East African markets is highly advantageous.

Salary

3,000,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
