Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Kasese, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry management efforts, including data collection, analysis, and visualization. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the conservation of Uganda’s natural resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry management efforts, including data collection, analysis, and visualization
  • Collaborate with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable forestry management practices
  • Conduct fieldwork to collect data on forest health, biodiversity, and other relevant indicators
  • Develop and maintain databases and other digital tools to support forestry management efforts
  • Provide training and technical assistance to local communities and other stakeholders on digital forestry management tools and practices

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in forestry management, data analysis, and digital solutions development
  • Strong understanding of digital tools and technologies, including data collection, analysis, and visualization software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field

Experience: 5-7 years

Salary: 2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per annum
