We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Kasese, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry management efforts, including data collection, analysis, and visualization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry management efforts, including data collection, analysis, and visualization.
  • Collaborate with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
  • Conduct field research and data collection to inform forestry management decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to promote our work and build support for our initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to local communities and governments on digital forestry management best practices.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Forestry or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in forestry management, including experience with digital forestry management tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with ability to learn and adapt to new digital tools and technologies.

Education

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Forestry or a related field, with a strong academic record and relevant work experience.

Experience

The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in forestry management, including experience with digital forestry management tools and technologies.

Salary

The salary for this position is 1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
