Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Kasese, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to improve forestry management practices, enhance data collection and analysis, and support conservation efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the protection of Uganda’s natural resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement digital solutions to improve forestry management practices, including data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to design and implement conservation initiatives.
- Conduct field assessments and surveys to gather data on forest health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services.
- Analyze and interpret data to inform conservation decisions and develop recommendations for improved forestry management practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in forestry management, conservation, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing digital solutions to improve forestry management practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform conservation decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.

Working Environment: The successful candidate will be based in Kasese, Uganda, and will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role will involve frequent travel to remote areas, including forests and rural communities.
