Job Overview
The E-Mobility Infrastructure Engineer will play a critical role in the design, installation, and maintenance of high-capacity electric vehicle charging stations. This position is vital to our ability to scale our fleet and ensure that our electric buses have reliable access to power. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of our charging hubs, ensuring they are integrated seamlessly with the local power grid while maintaining high safety standards. This role requires a blend of electrical engineering expertise and project management skills to handle complex installations in diverse environments.
This is a unique job vacancy in Uganda for a technical expert who wants to work at the cutting edge of the green revolution. You will work closely with local utility providers and our internal software teams to ensure that our charging infrastructure is smart, efficient, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement electrical layouts for high-capacity EV charging stations.
- Supervise the installation of transformers, switchgear, and charging units.
- Conduct regular diagnostic tests and preventative maintenance on charging hardware.
- Collaborate with utility companies to manage load requirements and grid integration.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical faults in the charging network.
- Ensure all installations comply with national electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Monitor energy consumption patterns to optimize charging schedules.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in electrical circuit design and power distribution.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC power conversion and battery management systems.
- Project management skills for overseeing site installations.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills for field-based troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field is mandatory. Professional certification in electrical installation or energy management is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical infrastructure projects, preferably involving high-voltage systems or renewable energy integration. Experience in the automotive or transport sector is a significant advantage.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 7,200,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise. This is a competitive package designed to attract the best talent in the industry.
