Job Overview

The Exploration Geologist will lead field and desk-based geological investigations to identify mineralized zones, support drilling programs, and generate high‑quality geological models. This role is pivotal in delivering data‑driven insights that guide investment decisions and project development. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, liaise with local authorities, and ensure compliance with all regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling and geophysical surveys across target areas.
• Design and supervise drilling campaigns, including core logging and data interpretation.
• Develop 3D geological models using software such as Leapfrog, Surfer or similar tools.
• Prepare technical reports, maps and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geochemists, geophysicists and mining engineers to integrate multidisciplinary data.
• Ensure all field activities comply with health, safety, environmental and community guidelines.
• Maintain accurate field notebooks, databases and GIS layers.
• Participate in community outreach programs to promote responsible mining practices.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in geological software (e.g., GIS, Leapfrog, Surfer, Micromine).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Field‑ready with experience in remote and rugged environments.
• Knowledge of Ugandan mining regulations and permitting processes.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Geologist) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in mineral exploration, including field mapping, sampling, drilling supervision and geological modelling. Experience in East African mining jurisdictions is preferred.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 3,000,000 to SSP 5,000,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be included.
