Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeologist to join our Water and Environment Department in Kampala. In this role, you will lead groundwater resource assessments, design water supply systems, and conduct environmental impact studies. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrogeological field investigations, including borehole drilling supervision and aquifer testing.
• Develop conceptual and numerical groundwater flow models to assess aquifer potential.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and water resource management plans.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design sustainable groundwater extraction systems.
• Provide expert technical advice on groundwater protection and contamination remediation.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in hydrogeological modeling software such as MODFLOW or GIS-based tools.
• Strong field skills in borehole logging and groundwater sampling techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural team.

Education

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Water Resources Engineering, or Environmental Science from a recognized institution.

Experience

A minimum of five years of progressive professional experience in hydrogeological consulting or water resource management is required.
