We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Nebbi, Uganda.

Job Overview

The Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for WWF-Uganda’s projects and programs, and for providing technical support to our conservation and science teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, experience in conducting environmental impact assessments, and excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments for WWF-Uganda’s projects and programs
• Provide technical support to our conservation and science teams
• Develop and implement environmental management plans
• Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to ensure that environmental concerns are addressed
• Conduct fieldwork and data collection as needed

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
• 8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and conservation
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with local communities and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field, and a strong background in environmental conservation and management.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and conservation, and a strong track record of conducting environmental impact assessments and developing environmental management plans.

Salary

The salary for this position is 500,000 – 700,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
