Job Overview
The Automotive Diagnostic Technician will play a critical role in our Arua service center. This position is designed for a highly skilled technician who excels at identifying complex mechanical and electronic faults in modern vehicles. As the automotive industry shifts toward hybrid and highly computerized systems, the role requires a blend of traditional mechanical knowledge and advanced digital diagnostic capabilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that every vehicle leaving our workshop meets the highest safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced computer-based diagnostics to identify faults in electronic control units (ECUs).
- Conduct comprehensive mechanical inspections including engine, transmission, and braking systems.
- Interpret complex technical data and wiring diagrams to resolve intricate electrical issues.
- Execute precision repairs on hybrid and fuel-efficient engine components.
- Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and timelines.
- Maintain meticulous records of all diagnostic tests and repairs performed on client vehicles.
- Ensure all workshop equipment and diagnostic tools are calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer standards.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in using computerized diagnostic scanning tools and software.
- Deep understanding of internal combustion engines and electronic fuel injection systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex fault finding.
- Excellent attention to detail regarding safety protocols and technical specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with both team members and clients.
Education
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field from a recognized institution. Certification in specialized electronic diagnostics or hybrid vehicle technology is highly advantageous.
Experience
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair and diagnostics is required. Proven experience working with modern vehicle electronic systems and computerized diagnostic equipment is essential for success in this role.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 2,500,000 SSP to 4,500,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s technical expertise and previous experience in the automotive sector.
