Job Overview

The Curriculum Development Specialist will spearhead the design, review, and implementation of cutting‑edge curricula across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Reporting to the Director of Academic Affairs, the role involves close collaboration with department heads, industry partners, and accreditation bodies to ensure that programmes remain relevant, rigorous, and aligned with national development goals. Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive curriculum reviews and redesigns to meet evolving academic standards and labour market needs.
• Develop detailed course outlines, learning outcomes, assessment strategies, and instructional materials.
• Coordinate with faculty to integrate innovative teaching methodologies, including blended and online learning.
• Ensure compliance with national accreditation requirements and international best practices.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, focus groups, and industry consultations to gather feedback.
• Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness through data‑driven analysis and continuous improvement cycles.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal governance and external regulatory bodies.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional design, and pedagogy.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing abilities.
• Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technology tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Project management experience with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Ugandan higher education policies and global accreditation standards.

Education

A Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, Instructional Design, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with a Ph.D. or additional certifications in educational technology are highly regarded.

Experience

Minimum of five years of proven experience in curriculum development within a university or comparable higher‑education setting. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and engaging industry partners is essential.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The package includes performance‑based incentives and statutory benefits.
