Job Overview
We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Kumi, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry management efforts, including the use of remote sensing and GIS technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, forestry, or a related field, as well as experience with digital technologies and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry management efforts, including the use of remote sensing and GIS technologies
- Collect and analyze data on forest health, biodiversity, and other relevant metrics
- Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement forestry management plans
- Provide training and technical assistance to local communities and government agencies on the use of digital technologies for forestry management
Required Skills
- Strong background in environmental science, forestry, or a related field
- Experience with digital technologies, including remote sensing and GIS
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
Experience
5-7 years of experience in forestry management, environmental science, or a related field
Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per annum
