Job Overview

We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Mbarara, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts. This will include designing and implementing digital tools to monitor and manage forest health, as well as developing and implementing digital training programs for local communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts
  • Design and implement digital tools to monitor and manage forest health
  • Develop and implement digital training programs for local communities
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform conservation decisions

Required Skills

  • Strong technical skills in digital forestry and conservation
  • Experience with digital tools and technologies, including GIS and remote sensing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field

Experience

8-12 years of experience in digital forestry and conservation, with a focus on developing and implementing digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts

Salary

5,000,000 – 7,000,000 SSP per annum
