Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Systems Specialist to join our technical team in Arua. This role is critical to ensuring the operational efficiency and longevity of our heavy machinery fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing complex hydraulic circuits used in large-scale earthmoving and construction equipment. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of fluid power systems and the ability to work in demanding environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostic testing on hydraulic pumps, motors, and control valves.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for heavy machinery hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex fluid power failures in the field and in the workshop.
  • Interpret technical schematics and hydraulic circuit diagrams to identify system inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the service team to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and field operators.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and technical reports for all hydraulic interventions.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in reading and interpreting complex hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Advanced proficiency in using diagnostic pressure gauges and flow meters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to fluid dynamics.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and rugged field environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline is mandatory. Professional certification in hydraulic systems or heavy equipment maintenance is highly preferred.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy industrial hydraulic systems. Previous experience working with Caterpillar or similar high-end machinery brands is a significant advantage. Proven track record in field-based troubleshooting is essential for this role.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 7,200,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical certifications. This competitive package reflects the specialized nature of the role.
