Job Overview

The Marine Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the end‑to‑end flow of marine cargo, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of oil and gas equipment, chemicals, and bulk commodities to and from Gulu’s inland port facilities. This position collaborates closely with shipping agents, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders to optimize vessel schedules, cargo stowage plans, and documentation compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, and berth allocations in alignment with operational plans.
• Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and hazardous material permits.
• Monitor cargo loading and unloading processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain real‑time tracking of shipments using ERP and maritime tracking systems.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, port authorities, and inland transport providers to resolve any logistical issues.
• Develop and implement cost‑saving initiatives related to marine freight, storage, and handling.
• Prepare regular performance reports on transit times, freight costs, and incident logs for senior management.
• Ensure adherence to TotalEnergies’ health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies throughout all marine operations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, INCOTERMS, and customs procedures in Uganda.
• Proficiency in logistics software such as SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) or equivalent are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in marine logistics, bulk cargo coordination, or related fields within the oil & gas sector. Prior exposure to Ugandan port operations and customs processes is highly desirable.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be applicable.
