Job Overview

MTN Uganda is hiring a Financial Accountant to manage accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for its Mukono operations. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting and cost analysis activities.

The Financial Accountant will work closely with finance managers, auditors, and operational teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role provides critical insights to support operational decision-making and efficient financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and journal entries

Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet, and variance analyses

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes

Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control activities

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards

Conduct financial analysis and performance reporting

Assist with internal and external audits

Monitor cash flow, working capital, and expense management

Implement and maintain internal financial controls and policies

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate accounting standards

Experience with ERP accounting systems and financial software

Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and compliance focus

Ability to interpret financial data to guide business decisions
