Position Overview
The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Officer plays a key role in supporting organizational growth through financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, business partnering, and performance analysis. The position supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate financial insights, risk assessments, donor reporting, financial modelling, and resource allocation recommendations.
The successful candidate will collaborate with finance, operations, program teams, and leadership to ensure financial sustainability, compliance, operational efficiency, and effective utilization of donor funds.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Prepare and maintain annual operating budgets across departments and projects.
- Support budget owners during budget preparation and revision processes.
- Participate in rolling forecasts and financial planning exercises.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling to assess risks and opportunities.
- Analyze funding requirements and identify potential financial gaps.
- Provide financial guidance to support organizational planning and accountability.
Financial Analysis and Performance Reporting
- Conduct monthly financial reviews comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare comprehensive variance analysis reports.
- Monitor expenditure trends and cost efficiency across programs.
- Identify financial risks, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop management reports highlighting key financial indicators and performance metrics.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
Financial Modelling and Business Partnering
- Build financial models for strategic planning and decision-making.
- Support resource allocation and cost optimization initiatives.
- Develop funding projections and scenario-based financial forecasts.
- Translate complex financial information into practical insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Partner with program managers and department leaders to improve financial decision-making.
- Support long-term organizational growth strategies through financial analysis.

Reporting, Dashboards and Systems Management
- Prepare financial dashboards and management reports using financial systems and analytical tools.

- Monitor donor-funded budgets and expenditure compliance.
Capacity Building and Collaboration
- Support finance and non-finance staff through financial management training.
- Strengthen budgeting and reporting capabilities across departments.
- Promote financial accountability and best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to align financial plans with organizational objectives.
- Maintain high ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
Educational Requirements
Required Qualification
