Job Overview
This role focuses on analyzing renewable energy systems to optimize performance, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with international sustainability standards. The position is based in Mbarara, a hub for emerging clean energy projects in Uganda’s Western Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical assessments of wind and solar energy systems
- Develop performance reports for energy generation projects
- Collaborate with engineers to design energy efficiency improvements
- Monitor regulatory compliance for renewable energy operations
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses for new project proposals
Required Skills
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, RETScreen)
- Strong analytical skills with Excel and data visualization tools
- Knowledge of Ugandan energy sector regulations
- Excellent communication for stakeholder presentations
- Experience with project lifecycle management
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Science
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 2-3 years in renewable energy systems analysis
- Project management experience in energy sector
Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP monthly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
