Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee environmental compliance for all company operations in Uganda.
  • Conduct and coordinate environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for new projects.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs).
  • Engage with local communities, government agencies, and NGOs on sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international environmental regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan environmental laws and international standards.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental management, preferably within the energy sector. Experience in East Africa is highly desirable.

Salary

UGX 5,000,000 – UGX 7,000,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
