Job Overview
This role involves analyzing energy distribution systems, optimizing grid performance, and implementing smart grid solutions to enhance energy efficiency. The position is based in Mbarara, Uganda, and offers opportunities to work on transformative projects in rural electrification and solar-powered grid systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze smart grid systems for energy distribution optimization
- Conduct data analysis on energy consumption patterns and grid performance
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate renewable energy sources into the grid
- Develop reports and recommendations for grid modernization projects
- Monitor and troubleshoot grid systems for efficiency and reliability
Required Skills
- Proficiency in grid modeling software (e.g., ETAP, PowerWorld)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with renewable energy integration systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Ugandan energy sector regulations and standards
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years in energy systems analysis or smart grid projects
- Previous experience in renewable energy sectors is advantageous
Salary
3,500,000 – 5,000,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience.
