Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainable Urban Planner to join our team in Mbale, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading urban planning projects, developing sustainable urban design solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement urban planning initiatives. The role will involve working closely with local government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to ensure that urban planning projects are aligned with the needs and aspirations of local communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead urban planning projects from concept to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Develop sustainable urban design solutions that take into account the social, economic, and environmental needs of local communities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including local government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders, to ensure that urban planning projects are aligned with the needs and aspirations of local communities.
- Conduct urban planning research and analysis to inform urban planning decisions and policy development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable urban design and development.
- Proven track record of leading urban planning projects from concept to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in urban planning software, including ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
Education: Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field.
Experience: 8-12 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable urban design and development.
