We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Bushenyi, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agriculture practices across our operations in Uganda.
Job Overview
The Sustainable Agriculture Specialist will work closely with our farmers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture practices and improve crop yields. The role will involve conducting field research, developing and implementing new technologies, and providing training and support to farmers.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, excellent communication and project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable agriculture practices across our operations in Uganda
- Conduct field research to identify new technologies and best practices
- Provide training and support to farmers on sustainable agriculture practices
- Collaborate with our farmers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture practices
- Develop and implement new technologies to improve crop yields
Required Skills
- Strong background in agriculture
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel frequently to rural areas
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field
Experience
5-8 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or a related field
