Key Responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end blockchain architectures aligned with Safaricom’s strategic objectives.
• Develop and deploy smart contracts for mobile money, identity verification, and supply‑chain traceability.
• Integrate blockchain solutions with existing telecom infrastructure, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Conduct security audits, performance testing, and scalability assessments.
• Collaborate with product managers, legal, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews for blockchain development teams.
• Stay abreast of emerging blockchain trends, standards, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, or Corda.
• Proficiency in smart contract languages (Solidity, Chaincode) and associated development tools.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, consensus mechanisms, and distributed ledger technology.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to design RESTful APIs and integrate blockchain with mobile and web applications.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Leadership experience in guiding cross‑functional technical teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in blockchain development or a Master’s degree are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of professional experience in blockchain solution design, development, and deployment, preferably within the telecommunications or financial services sector.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 4,000,000 to SSP 6,000,000 per month, reflecting the candidate’s expertise and the strategic importance of the role.
